Brief Bio

• An undergrad student with Claremont Mckenna College, California, USA, where she is pursuing Economics and Psychology. She is expected to graduate in 2020. In High School, she was awarded with Prayukti Award for lateral thinking, She was School Topper in English and Political Science, with Academic Excellence Award and Subject Honors in Mathematics, Physics, Home Science and History & Civics.
• One among 4 children from India to be awarded scholarship by the prestigious Khemka Foundation to attend Brown Leadership Summer Institute where she undertook a course on Social Entrepreneurship. She developed initiative `Selflessly Yours’ to bring together like minded youth & members of society to highlight issues and measures to end various forms of child violence. She directed a 7‐minute Documentary Film by conducting a reality check by interacting with 45 children from diverse backgrounds about what `happiness’ meant to them, to bring about the contrast of happiness experienced by children, for `The International Happiness Day’ on 20 March 2015. This film was screened at various forums.
• She conducted a collection drive to help victims of the Nepal earthquake that occurred in April 2015. Conceptualized Child Mentoring Program where high school students connected with underprivileged children and helped them learn varied skills. Coordinated sessions with a Sr Image Consultant and a UN expert on Child Welfare. Launched the Peace Gong – a children’s newspaper aimed at giving young people a platform to write and develop understanding of issues of social concern. Held media literacy workshops and published newsletter on child trafficking. Appointed as a Research Assistant, Missing Child Alert Project initiated by SAIEVAC (South Asian Initiative to End Violence against Children), a regional inter‐governmental body comprising of 8 Nations. The project aimed to map legal provisions re: human trafficking in the South Asian region.
