James Alan Kendrick

- James Alan Kendrick is Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Development at The Graduate School, Duke University. He oversees efforts to design, deliver, and improve services and programs that support graduate students from entry to completion of their degrees.
- He creates mechanisms for developing and coordinating The Graduate School’s diversity initiatives, including the daily administration and development of recruitment and retention activities.
- He has also been Director of Diversity, Recruitment, and Retention at UNC-Chapel Hill; Assistant Professor-Political Science at Saint Augustine’s College; and Jessie Ball duPont Fellow at Washington and Lee University.
- James holds a Ph.D. in Government from University of Virginia; he hasĀ also earned M.A. in Foreign Affairs from University of Virginia, apart from B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from Emory University.
